Drain jetting is literally sending a jet of water under high pressure through a drain pipe to clear a blockage or for drain cleaning maintenance.
High pressure drain Jetting is a far quicker and an easier method of drain unblocking or drain clearing than using drain rods. The use of drain rods by the drainage contractor for drain clearing or drain unblocking can simply move the blockage further along the pipe instead of dispersing it. Drain jetting is a far more effective method of Worcester drain clearance.
Due to the sheer power and amount of water used it is the most efficient method of drain unblocking or drain clearing. Once the nozzle meets the blockage the force obliterates it whereas a drainage contractor using drain rods can take much longer. As well as removing Worcester drain blockages drain jetting also cleans the pipe as it progresses. The drain jet hose can negotiate different types of pipe bends and will travel further than drain rods.
Some households and commercial customers in Worcester organise a regular drainage contractor call to prevent inconvenient blockages. For a commercial organisation drain blockages can severely disrupt their day to day work, so they are anxious to prevent them. Maintenance of drains is important but often neglected by householders as they are underground and tend to be forgotten. For maintenance, the drains are jetted periodically to clean and descale them, preventing buildups of matter that can eventually cause blockages.
More companies are choosing to keep in front of drain blockages and associated problems with pre planned drainage maintenance/ cleaning programmes, the arrangement means that your drains are checked and jetted out regularly, so that any issues can be resolved before they turn into major problems.
If you feel that your drainage system requires jetting on a six or twelve monthly basis we will happily quote for the work.

Drain rodding is an old but useful and sometimes effective method of clearing blocked drains, if successful it can save homeowners money and the inconvenience that drain blockages cause. Rodding doesn’t always work but as long as you don’t get the rods stuck or do any damage you may save some money and the cost of calling a drain company.
The best method of drain clearing depends on the cause of the blockage, the available access into the system section that’s blocked, the tools you have to hand and how confident you feel to have a go.
Drain rods used to be made from cane, if you have a set of these the bins the best place for them, we have recovered loads of them from drains when they have snapped in use. If you are going to have a go at clearing your own drains buy a decent quality rod set.
DRAIN ROD TYPES
Drain rods are easily obtainable from builders merchants, DIY stores or the internet. There are two types of drain rods available, universal and lockfast, the difference being universal just screw together clockwise, you cant reverse them in use. Lockfast rods as the name suggests lock together and can be reversed while clearing the blockage without coming undone.
Our advice would be if you have underground drain problems and you want to clear the blockage yourself, particularly if you haven’t done this before, buy a decent set of lockfast drain rods they might take a bit longer to put together but they are easier and safer to use.
